Managing Director of Hearts of Oak, Delali Anku-Adiamah, has expressed full support for Asante Kotoko and Bibiani GoldStars as they prepare to kick off their continental campaigns this weekend.
GoldStars, last season’s Ghana Premier League champions, will represent the country in the CAF Champions League, while FA Cup holders Kotoko will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Speaking exclusively to Asempa FM, Anku-Adiamah urged both clubs to rise to the occasion, emphasizing that their performances could help Ghana regain its full quota of four slots in African interclub tournaments.
“Asante Kotoko and Bibiani GoldStars are now representing Ghana in Africa, and if they perform well, the flag of Ghana will be raised high. The farther they go in the competition, the more slots we can secure in the future, so we as a club wish them the very best,” he said.
GoldStars open their Champions League campaign on Saturday, September 20, against Algerian giants JS Kabylie at the Accra Sports Stadium, while Kotoko will follow a day later, facing Nigeria’s Kwara United in the Confederation Cup preliminary round.
Both teams have undergone intensive preparations and are determined to deliver strong results as Ghana aims to reclaim its standing among Africa’s football elite.
