Former Accra Hearts of Oak board member, Frank Nwonkolo Nelson, has thrown his support behind head coach Didi Dramani, urging fans to exercise patience as the club undergoes a rebuilding phase.
Dramani, who recently signed a two-year deal with the Phobians, suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to rivals Asante Kotoko in the 2025 President’s Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Despite the defeat, Nelson expressed confidence in the coach’s capabilities and urged the club’s supporters to give him time.
“Didi Dramani is a coach that everybody knows. If you look at his CV, if you look at his height in football, you will understand that he understands local football,” Nelson stated.

He emphasised the importance of time and stability, saying, “He’s been around for some time. He needs to put in more effort to be able to get the best from his boys when he gets a proper starting eleven.”
Nelson also pointed out the need for a creative player who can dictate play for Hearts.
“We need a game changer, somebody who can hold the ball for us,” he said.
Nonetheless, he remained confident in Dramani’s leadership. “At the end of the day, I think Didi Dramani will do well. Let’s just give him the opportunity. He’s a very nice coach, he’s a young gentleman, and he can listen.”
The former Black Stars assistant coach now shifts focus to pre-season preparations, with Hearts of Oak expected to compete in the GHALCA Top 4, Homowo Cup, and the upcoming Democracy Cup.
