Hearts of Oak boost top four hopes with convincing win over Accra Lions

Hearts of Oak took a significant step towards securing a top-four finish with a commanding 3-1 win over Accra Lions on Friday night at the Accra Sports Stadium in their Matchday 32 clash.

The Phobians started brightly and broke the deadlock in the 12th minute through Enoch Asubonteng, who fired in a stunning strike to register his first goal of the season.

Accra Lions responded with determination and found an equalizer with 20 minutes left on the clock, courtesy of Laurence Setordjie.

But Hearts quickly regained control of the match, netting twice in quick succession. Kwesi Asmah restored the lead in the 81st minute before Hamza Issah sealed the win with a third goal just before the final whistle.

Despite the victory, Hearts of Oak remain 5th on the table with 52 points, while Accra Lions continue to battle relegation, sitting 16th with 35 points.
