The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has formally charged Hearts of Oak assistant coach Gazale Abdulai for allegedly assaulting a ball boy during their Premier League clash with Medeama SC at TNA Park.

In an official statement as part of its 2025/2026 season regulatory updates, the GFA said Gazale faces a breach of Article 12(1)(h) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.

The allegation stems from an incident captured on widely circulated video footage showing the assistant coach chasing a ball retriever on the pitch.

Post-match reports indicate that the ball boy had kicked the ball away as Gazale tried to retrieve it to pass to a player. The ball boy claims he was slapped by Gazale but also struck back, prompting the pursuit seen in the video.

The referee responded by sending off Gazale during the game.

On the field, Hearts of Oak fell 1-0 to Medeama SC. The defeat left the Phobians in fifth place, while Medeama retained their position atop the league standings.

Gazale has been given until Thursday, January 8, 2026, to submit a formal response before the Disciplinary Committee advances the case.
