The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has listed and called for the withdrawal of some 16 dangerous tomato paste brands currently on the market.
The FDA in a press release, cautioned the public against the purchase of the listed tomato paste brands, saying they contained starch and erythrosine (colour), ingredients not permitted in the production of tomato pastes.
The detection of the 16 dangerous tomato pastes on the market, follows intensive market surveillance activities and laboratory analysis by the FDA.
