Gyedu chiefs appeal to government for support to complete polyclinic

The Mawerehene of Gyedu in the Ahafo Region, Nana Owusu Annin, has made a passionate appeal to the government for support to complete the community’s polyclinic and enhance healthcare delivery for residents.

Speaking during an engagement with the management of the Asutifi North District Assembly, Nana Owusu Annin revealed that the chiefs and residents have been funding the construction of the polyclinic from their own resources, but external support is now urgently needed to finish the project and equip it with the necessary facilities and logistics.

He further lamented that a promise made by the previous administration to provide a maternity ward for the clinic has not been honoured, leaving a critical gap in maternal healthcare services in the area.

The Mawerehene called on the current District Chief Executive and the NDC government to prioritize the completion of the polyclinic and provide the essential infrastructure and equipment needed to ensure its full functionality.

In response, the District Chief Executive for Asutifi North, Hafiz Dauda, pledged the assembly’s support. He assured the chiefs and people of Gyedu that the maternity ward, which was promised by the previous administration, would be constructed under his leadership.
