Project Manager for Eligreen Agribusiness Hub, Prince Ackuaku, has called on the government to prioritize investment in modern agricultural technologies to draw more women and young people into the farming sector.

He was speaking at the Eligreen Women and Youth Agribusiness Exhibition Summit (EWAYES) 2025, held under the theme “Breaking Barriers, Securing Market and Finance Access for Women and Youth in the Agribusiness Sector.”

Mr. Ackuaku highlighted how many countries have successfully integrated innovative technologies to make farming faster, easier, and more productive.

He expressed confidence that Ghana could replicate this success by adopting technology-driven methods and machinery to boost yields and reduce manual labour.

“Modern technology is a game-changer,” Mr. Ackuaku stated. “It not only enhances productivity but also creates opportunities for job creation and women’s empowerment in agriculture.”

He emphasized that agriculture should no longer be viewed as a last resort or punishment for the youth but recognized as a promising avenue for wealth creation and sustainable employment.

The EWAYES 2025 summit seeks to spotlight local agribusinesses, empower women to actively participate in agriculture, and provide essential platforms for accessing markets, finance, and innovation.

As Ghana continues to strive for economic growth and food security, the integration of modern agricultural technologies stands out as a vital strategy to attract a new generation of farmers and unlock the sector’s full potential.
