Gov’t releases funds for 2025 WASSCE practical exams

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the disbursement of funds to all Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) across the country to cover the full cost of the 2025 WASSCE practical examinations.

In a statement signed by its Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the GES reaffirmed the government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on parents and guardians while ensuring that candidates receive the necessary support to excel.

According to the statement, the funds will cater for essential materials and logistics required for the smooth conduct of science, technical, and vocational practicals, which are scheduled to begin in the coming weeks.

“The release of the funds is to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated examination process that enables students to focus on their academic work while relieving parents and guardians of any such financial burden,” the statement said.

GES further directed all regional, district, and school authorities to ensure the funds are used strictly for their intended purpose. It added that management will closely monitor disbursement and utilisation to ensure transparency and prevent any misappropriation.
