Gov’t officials, MPs and NDC gurus mourn with Samson Ahi [Photos]

Scores of mourners, including government officials, Members of Parliament (MPs) and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Saturday, January 10, 2026, joined the Sefwi Bodi MP, Samson Ahi, to mourn and lay his mother to rest.

The final funeral and burial rites of the late Obaapanin Grace Bomo Andoh were held at Sefwi Bodi in the Western North Region.


In attendance were NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Andrew Asiamah, and former NDC Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.

Others included the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare; the Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh; the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga; as well as members of the clergy, among others.

The mother of Mr. Ahi, who also serves as Deputy Minister for Trade, passed away on August 7, 2025.

Mr. Ahi entered Parliament on January 7, 2005, representing the Juaboso Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He served in that role until 2012, when he contested and won the newly created Bodi Constituency, which he has represented ever since.
