The Ministry of Health has announced a 50 percent reduction in school fees for Nursing and Allied Health Training students, effective from the 2025/2026 academic year.
In a statement signed by Tony Goodman, Deputy Director and Spokesperson of the Ministry, the move forms part of the government’s “No-Fee-Stress” policy aimed at easing the financial burden on students and parents.
“This policy offers direct relief to families and ensures that no institution charges beyond the approved schedule of fees or collects payments for items already covered,” the Ministry stated.
The reduction is in line with President John Dramani Mahama’s pledge to make tertiary education more affordable and reflects government’s broader commitment to expand access to health training opportunities while supporting student welfare.
Principals of Health Training Institutions have been cautioned to comply fully with the directive. The Ministry warned that any head found imposing unauthorized charges “does so at their own risk.”
Schools have also been instructed to begin preparations for admitting students under the new arrangement in the upcoming academic year.
