Government has released the first term feeding grants for caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection confirmed that the payments have been made to caterers across all 16 regions of the country.

According to the Ministry, the first term of the 2025/2026 academic year, which began on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, covered 74 cooking days. Caterers were paid at a rate of GH¢2 per child for each school day.

The Ministry explained that the amount paid to individual caterers was based on the actual number of days they provided meals to beneficiary pupils during the term.

Caterers who encounter challenges or discrepancies with the disbursement have been advised to promptly report such issues to their respective Regional Coordinators for immediate resolution.

The Ministry commended the government for the timely release of funds and expressed appreciation to caterers for their patience, cooperation and continued commitment to the programme.

It also applauded caterers for their dedication and the vital role they play in providing meals to beneficiary schoolchildren under the Ghana School Feeding Programme.

The announcement was signed by the Director of Public Relations of the Ministry, Siiba Alfa.
