Government condemns “unprovoked Israeli attack” on Qatar

The Government of Ghana has condemned what it described as an “unprovoked Israeli attack” on the State of Qatar, which resulted in casualties and damage to property.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Ghana said the airstrikes violated international law and undermined efforts to advance peace between Israel and Palestine.

President John Dramani Mahama expressed solidarity with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the people of Qatar during what he called “difficult times.”

“We commend Qatar for its tireless and impressive commitment towards the resolution of the conflict between the States of Israel and Palestine, and further appeal that this condemnable incident is not allowed to derail Qatar’s effort in negotiating a peaceful diplomatic resolution of the conflict,” the statement read.
