The Ministry of Health has confirmed that salaries for 321 Pharmacist House Officers who completed their housemanship in 2024 have been successfully processed.
In a statement, the Ministry described the move as a significant step toward addressing longstanding financial obligations within the health sector.
The Ministry also acknowledged growing concerns among the 2024 batch of Rotation Nurses and Allied Health Interns, who began their rotations in May 2024 and completed them in May 2025 but have yet to receive their salaries.
According to the Ministry, the delay was due to the previous government’s failure to secure the necessary financial clearance before the interns commenced work.
Officials say they are working closely with relevant government agencies to fast-track the clearance process and ensure the timely release of all outstanding payments.
“This effort reflects the Ministry’s broader commitment to resolving salary arrears across all health worker categories and ensuring that every qualified professional is supported in delivering essential healthcare services to Ghanaians,” the statement noted.
The Ministry assured affected interns that their concerns are being treated with urgency and said steps are being taken to establish a more sustainable system to prevent future salary delays.
