Bibiani GoldStars head coach, Frimpong Manso, has dedicated the club’s historic Ghana Premier League title to the late Michael Osei.
Osei, who played a key role in GoldStars’ development after their promotion to the Premier League, sadly passed away a few months after leaving the club. Manso, who succeeded him, led the Miners to clinch their maiden league title.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite Show, Manso endorsed calls to honour Osei’s memory.
“I fully agree with those suggesting that we should dedicate the trophy to the late Michael Osei,” he said.
Reflecting on their journey to the title, Manso admitted that the team’s championship ambitions evolved over the course of the season.
“Before the start of the Premier League season, I was hoping GoldStars could finish in the top six, but along the way, I realised that we could win the title.”
GoldStars will face Medeama SC on Saturday, June 14, at DUN’s Park for their coronation match. The club will represent Ghana in the 2025/26 CAF Champions League.
