Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Matthew Nyindam, has attributed his victory at the Supreme Court to divine intervention, following a ruling that restored his parliamentary seat.

He expressed gratitude to God and the people of his constituency.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Nyindam said the apex court’s decision affirms the mandate given to him by the people of Kpandai in the December 7, 2024, general election.

According to him, the election petition challenging his victory was filed outside the legally permitted time frame, making the case invalid from the onset.

“The official gazette was on December 24, 2024, and the petition was filed on January 25. It was clearly out of time. God spoke, and through the judges and justices, justice prevailed,” he stated.

The Supreme Court, by a 4–1 majority decision, overturned a Tamale High Court ruling that had annulled Mr. Nyindam’s election.

The court granted a certiorari application filed by the NPP MP, ruling that the High Court lacked the jurisdiction to nullify the election. Full reasons for the judgment are expected to be released on February 6, 2026.
