The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asunafo North in the Ahafo Region, Joseph Akparibo, has expressed concern over the underdevelopment of Goaso, stating that the town’s current state does not reflect its status as the regional capital.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the Goaso Traditional Council, Mr. Akparibo—who was accompanied by the Member of Parliament and Assembly staff—said he was saddened by the lack of essential infrastructure in the capital.
“It is disheartening to see that Goaso, despite being the regional capital, lacks basic amenities such as good roads, quality schools, and a well-equipped hospital to serve the people,” he said.
He appealed to the traditional authorities to partner with the Assembly and the MP to advocate for and facilitate the development needed to uplift Goaso to a standard befitting its status.
The Member of Parliament for the area, Haruna Mohammed, also reassured the chiefs and residents of Goaso that he and the Assembly are committed to bringing progress to the town.
“We will not fail or disappoint the people of Goaso. We are determined to work together with the chiefs to bring the development the town deserves,” the MP affirmed.
