A fierce fire on Thursday morning gutted the top floor of a one-storey building at Mamprobi Sureway in Accra, but rapid intervention by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) prevented the blaze from consuming the entire structure.

Firefighters from the Dansoman station, supported by teams from Industrial Area, Circle, and National Headquarters, responded promptly to distress calls around 10:13 a.m.
Within minutes, the first fire tender was on scene, and after more than an hour of intense firefighting, the flames were fully extinguished.

The fire destroyed the top floor, which contained three bedrooms, a hall, and a kitchen, along with most of its contents. The ground floor, comprising two bedrooms, was spared thanks to coordinated firefighting efforts.
No injuries or fatalities were reported.

The GNFS has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which remains unknown. Residents and onlookers have praised the firefighters for their swift response, noting that without their timely intervention, the entire building could have been lost.
