Residents of Okorase Nyarkroma in the Eastern Region were left alarmed when a large swarm of bees invaded a local facility, prompting a rapid response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

A team of eight rescuers from the Koforidua Metro Fire Station, led by ADO I Serwaah-Kyere, was dispatched soon after the distress call came in early afternoon. Upon arrival, the crew found the bees clustered beneath an abandoned roofing sheet, posing a potential threat to nearby residents.

Fire officers carefully assessed the situation and carried out a coordinated operation to safely remove the swarm. Rather than destroying the bees, they were relocated to a nearby vegetated area, ensuring both public safety and environmental protection.

The operation was completed without incident, and the team returned to base shortly afterward. Community members expressed relief and praised the GNFS for their swift action in averting potential harm.
