The Ghana Music Awards (GMA) has paid a glowing tribute to veteran gospel musician Yaw Sarpong following his passing.
Widely regarded as a pillar of the gospel music industry, Yaw Sarpong was celebrated for his decades-long contribution to shaping contemporary gospel music in Ghana through timeless songs that inspired faith and unity.
In recognition of his immense impact, he was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards—an accolade reserved for individuals whose work has left a lasting mark on the country’s music landscape.
The GMA noted that although Yaw Sarpong is no longer alive, his music and legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched and the generations of gospel musicians he inspired.
He is remembered not only for his musical excellence but also for his commitment to ministry through music.
