-

Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) General Secretary hopeful, Akwasi Agyeman—a seasoned journalist and editor at Adom FM—has taken his campaign to the Upper East Region, where he outlined his vision to GJA members.

Speaking to delegates, Mr. Agyeman indicated that he would issue cards to members in good standing to strengthen their identity and benefits within the association.

He added that, when given the mandate, he would lobby for a special awards category to recognize and celebrate the outstanding work of female journalists in Ghana.

Akwasi Agyeman also assured that he would advocate for support and resources to help journalists pursue further education and professional development.

He emphasized that prioritizing journalists’ safety would be a critical aspect of his mandate, ensuring they can work without fear of harassment or harm.

Agyeman’s campaign promises are aimed at repositioning the GJA as a proactive, supportive, and unifying force for all media professionals in Ghana.

With over 20 years of experience in journalism and a strong academic background, Agyeman is confident in his ability to deliver on these promises.

The GJA elections are scheduled for June 30, 2025.
