The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North in the Ahafo Region, Dr. Gideon Boako, has initiated steps to reconstruct the Yamfo market to address the challenges traders have long been facing.

In an interview at Yamfo, during an engagement with local chiefs and residents, Dr. Boako announced his readiness to rebuild the deteriorated market. He explained that the reconstruction will feature permanent structures, quality roofing, and proper pavements to make the market more functional, attractive, and befitting for both traders and buyers.

Dr. Boako noted that the poor condition of the market has been negatively affecting traders’ businesses, making this intervention timely and necessary.

Traders, including Nana Ama, and the Queen Mother of Yamfo, Nana Darkowaa Ampem Kyerewaa II, expressed gratitude to the MP for his decision, describing the current state of the market as an eyesore.

They highlighted that during rains, the market floods and becomes muddy, while some people even use the space as a public toilet, forcing traders to clean human waste daily.

The reconstruction of Yamfo market is expected to improve the business environment, enhance hygiene, and provide a more pleasant space for both traders and customers.
