President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that his administration will be guided by humility, integrity and dedication to the country’s welfare, while urging citizens to actively support efforts aimed at national progress.
The President made the remarks during Ghana’s 69th Independence Day celebration on Friday, March 6, held under the theme “Building Prosperity, Inspiring Hope“.
Addressing the nation, he reflected on Ghana’s journey since independence and the perseverance that has sustained the country through difficult periods.
“The journey has not always been smooth. We have stumbled and often felt disappointed in ourselves, but we have never given up,” President Mahama said, pointing to what he described as the enduring resilience of the Ghanaian people.
He reaffirmed his personal commitment to leading with integrity and a strong sense of responsibility to citizens.
“As your president, I pledge to serve with integrity, humility, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of our people. But Ghana’s progress cannot rely solely on my leadership; it will depend on every citizen doing their part,” he added.
While acknowledging the challenges confronting the nation, President Mahama emphasised the importance of collective responsibility in building a stronger country.
He called on citizens across different sectors to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s development.
“Wherever you are, whatever you do, do your part with excellence. Do it for Ghana, for Africa, and for the generations yet unborn,” he said.
