In a strategic move to address Ghana’s economic challenges, the Design & Technology Institute (DTI), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and in collaboration with the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), successfully hosted the 5th Annual National Precision Quality (PQ) Conference.
Themed “Investing in Human Capital as a Powerful Driver of Economic Growth,” the conference brought together stakeholders from various sectors to shape Ghana’s human capital development framework.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of a baseline study on human capital in Ghana, jointly commissioned by DTI and NDPC. The findings are expected to guide policymakers and industry leaders in formulating long-term, impactful strategies.
Participants engaged in extensive discussions and breakout sessions on human capital policy strategies, focusing on aligning education with market needs, formalising the informal sector, leveraging natural resources sustainably, and promoting a culture of innovation and quality.

DTI Founder and President, Ms. Constance Swaniker, described the conference as a national call to action.
“This is an opportunity to invest in skills, create jobs, and prioritise human capital as the cornerstone of a resilient and inclusive economy,” she said, stressing the importance of sustaining partnerships built during the conference for long-term impact.
The event concluded with a shared commitment to implement the recommendations and accelerate progress on Ghana’s human capital development framework.
