Ghana’s Deputy Head of Mission and Deputy Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sanni Jajah, has died.
His death was announced by the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, Yussif Jajah, who described the late diplomat as his nephew.
In a Facebook post, the MP said Sanni Jajah died on the evening of Saturday, August 9, describing the development as a heavy loss to the family.
He appealed to the public to remember the bereaved family in their thoughts and prayers as they come to terms with the loss.
The family is expected to announce details of the funeral and burial arrangements in due course.
Sanni Jajah was appointed Deputy Head of Mission at Ghana’s Embassy in Saudi Arabia on September 11, 2025, by President John Dramani Mahama.
He served alongside Ghana’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Said Sinare, and played a key role in the country’s diplomatic and consular engagements with the Kingdom.
His responsibilities included supporting Ghanaian nationals in Saudi Arabia and assisting pilgrims travelling to the Kingdom for the annual Hajj.
As Deputy Head of Mission, he was also involved in strengthening Ghana-Saudi Arabia relations and supporting the embassy’s consular operations.
His death comes less than a year after his appointment to the diplomatic mission.
