Ghana’s Black Starlets have arrived in Côte d’Ivoire ahead of the 2025 WAFU Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations.

Led by head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, the team landed in Yamoussoukro on Tuesday, September 16, to begin final preparations for the tournament.

The Black Starlets have been drawn into Group A alongside hosts Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, and Togo. The competition kicks off on September 20 and runs until October 3, with all matches taking place at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro.

Ghana will open their campaign against Togo on Saturday, September 20, at 18:00 GMT, face Côte d’Ivoire three days later, and conclude the group stage against Niger on Friday, September 26, at 15:00 GMT.

Apart from competing for regional honours, the tournament also serves as a qualifier for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations. Top-performing teams will earn spots at the continental championship.

As two-time FIFA U-17 World Cup champions, the Black Starlets are targeting not only qualification but also a return to prominence in youth football.
