Ghanaian border traders safe despite Regional unrest – Deputy Defence Minister assures

Deputy Minister for Defence, Brogya Gyenfi, has assured Ghanaians, particularly traders in border communities, of their safety amid instability in some neighbouring countries.

Responding to a question from the Member of Parliament for Bosome Freho, Asafo Adjei, in Parliament, Mr. Gyenfi said comprehensive security measures have been put in place to protect citizens living and trading along Ghana’s borders.

He emphasized that the Ghana Armed Forces remain professional, disciplined, and committed to upholding human rights, noting that their integrity and performance in United Nations peacekeeping missions have earned the country international respect.

Mr. Gyenfi reaffirmed the military’s dedication to safeguarding Ghana’s territorial integrity and supporting the nation’s democratic values, assuring border residents and traders that they have no cause for fear.
