The Accra West Region of Ghana Water Ltd. (GWL) has announced an interruption in water supply to several areas of western Accra on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
The disruption is to allow for emergency repairs on a main 36-inch pipeline from the Weija Treatment Plant.
Affected areas include Korle-Bu, Dansoman, Mamprobi, Chorkor, Malam, Gbawe, Ablekuma, Kwashiman, Awoshie, Sowutuom, Santa Maria, Tesano, Abeka, Kaneshie, Odorkor, Dakuman, and surrounding communities.
The maintenance work is scheduled between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., after which normal water supply is expected to resume.
Management has apologised for the inconvenience and urged residents to store sufficient water in advance.
