A 27-year-old suspected armed robber has been arrested in Awutu Breku on the Kasoa-Cape Coast highway in the Central Region for attacking an Okada with a cutlass.

Eyewitnesses say it was a taxi driver who gave the robber away.

“We were at the motorbike station when we heard someone had been attacked on the Bontrase road so we rushed there and saw our Okada partner in a pool of blood with several cutlass wounds inflicted on his body.”

“We would have lynched them but for the timely intervention of the police,” an Okada colleague of the victim narrated.

It is believed that the suspect is currently in the Awutu Breku police custody pending investigations with the victim also on admission at the Winneba trauma and specialist hospital.
