A founding member of the hip hop group The Black Eyed Peas has fired a salvo at US President Donald Trump for describing African countries as “shithole countries” during a bipartisan meeting.
According to William James Adams, known professionally as will.i.am, there are also “shithole communities in America” which needs the attention of the president.
President Trump has come under a barrage of attacks after he reportedly e called African countries and Haiti ‘shithole countries’ while discussing immigration issues with a bipartisan group of senators at the White House on Thursday.
He is quoted to have said: “Why do we want all these people from Africa here? They’re shithole countries … We should have more people from Norway.”
President Trump has since denied using such vulgar language, tweeting that ‘the language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made – a big setback for DACA!’
But many including the African Union Mission in the Washington DC, USA, have asked for retraction and apology from the US government over derogatory remarks.
Reacting to the issue on CNN, Will.i.am called the bluff of Donald Trump noting that the comment should be ignored.
He believes instead of insulting such countries, they rather need help to meet up to international standards.
Will.i.am  who is also an entrepreneur and philanthropist cited how he has been able to set up robotics schools in some areas in the US to help kids develop their talents as an example of helping change society.
