A severe rainstorm Tuesday night has wrecked havoc in Parliament House.

Adom News’ parliamentary correspondent, Abednego Asante Asiedu reported that the rain accompanied by severe winds has ripped off a part of the roof of the August House.

He indicated that activities in the Parliamentary chamber was affected as the rain flooded in from the roof. Some staff of Parliament, he said were seen trying to salvage some electronic gadgets installed in the chamber to ensure it is not destroyed.

The Chamber of Parliament was renovated in 2014 after MPs complained of congestion resulting from an increase of parliamentary seats from to 230 to 275.

The whole chamber including the roofs where all changed but Tuesday’s rainstorm has ruined it. But fortunately the House had adjourned sitting thus no casualty was recorded.
