Ghana Military Academy RCC35 and SSC/SD34 renovate and hand over GHC140,000 KG Block to Dzolokpuita community

The Ghana Military Academy’s Regular Career Course 35 (RCC35) and Short Service Commission/Special Duties Course 34 (SSC/SD34) has reaffirmed its commitment to community development by renovating and handing over a fully refurbished kindergarten (KG) block to the Dzolokpuita community in the Ho West District of the Volta Region.

The GHC140,000 project was officially commissioned during a brief ceremony at Dzolokpuita. The event attracted military officials, traditional leaders, education authorities, and residents, all of whom expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Academy’s intervention.

Previously in a deplorable state, the KG block posed safety hazards and disrupted effective teaching and learning. The renovated facility now features a new roof, plastered and painted walls, windows, doors, and modern classroom furniture—creating a safe and child-friendly learning environment.

Speaking to Adom News’ Odehyeba Owusu Job, Brigadier General Eric Konadu explained that the initiative forms part of the Military Academy’s civil-military cooperation efforts as it marks its 30th anniversary.

“We believe education is the bedrock of national development. By investing in our children, we are investing in Ghana’s future. We chose Dzolokpuita based on an assessment conducted in collaboration with the Ghana Education Directorate,” he said.

He urged the community to ensure the proper use and maintenance of the facility to guarantee its sustainability.

The Ho West District Director of Education, Mrs. Paulina S.E. Gobe, commended the gesture and called on other institutions to emulate the Academy’s example in supporting underserved communities.

Headteacher Victor Kwasi Klu and the KG teachers described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that it has resolved long-standing challenges. They also pledged to maintain the facility properly.

Traditional leaders and opinion leaders in Dzolokpuita hailed the gesture as historic and transformative, predicting it would increase school enrollment and enhance educational outcomes for children in the area.

The project reflects the Ghana Military Academy’s broader mission to foster strong community relations through targeted development initiatives across the country.
