The Ghana Meteorological Agency has issued a fresh weather alert indicating that thunderstorms accompanied by rain are expected to hit parts of the southern half of the country this afternoon.
A moderate rainstorm located in the Gulf of Guinea is expected to push thunderclouds inland, producing thunderstorms and rain of varying intensities along the coastal and middle sectors, including parts slightly north of the coast.
Affected areas include Accra, Kasoa, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Ho, Kintampo and Koforidua.
Additionally, the forecast reported that a separate rainstorm over Togo is anticipated to move into Ghana and affect parts of the northern and transition belts, including towns such as Wa, Tamale, Yendi, and Techiman later this afternoon and into the evening.
It also warned of gusty winds accompanying these storms and advises the public to take precautionary measures to avoid disaster.
The sea state remains rough, further cautioning coastal dwellers and seafarers.
