Ghana Meteo sends weather warnings over rainstorm from Togo

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has issued a fresh weather alert warning of thunderstorms and rainfall across several parts of the country, following the movement of a rainstorm system from southern Togo into Ghana.

In a 24-hour forecast issued on Tuesday morning, the agency confirmed that the rainstorm is already producing thunderstorms and rain of varying intensities over the transition zone and parts of the northern sector.

The development is expected to cause cloudy conditions and trigger further thunderstorms with rain across the southern half of the country between the morning and late afternoon.

The warning notes that while some areas may experience occasional sunshine, most parts of the country—particularly the coastal, middle, and northern regions—should brace for thunderstorms or rain from late afternoon into the evening.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency also cautioned that sea conditions remain rough and urged coastal residents and maritime operators to exercise caution.

It further advised the general public to stay alert as weather conditions may evolve throughout the day.
