Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has expressed confidence that Ghana is well-positioned to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars secured their spot in the global tournament on Sunday with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium, finishing atop Group I with 25 points. This marks Ghana’s fifth qualification for the World Cup.
Following the triumph, the Buem Constituency Member of Parliament told GHOne TV, “I see the 2026 World Cup as an African World Cup, and Ghana is poised to win.”
Ghana’s best showing in the tournament came in 2010 when the team reached the quarterfinals.
Notably, Morocco became the first African country to reach the semifinals in the 2022 edition held in Qatar.
The Black Stars will learn their group-stage opponents on December 5, as preparations begin for what promises to be a historic campaign.
