The Embassy of Ghana in Doha has urged Ghanaian citizens affected by the closure of Qatar’s airspace and the suspension of regular commercial flights to promptly submit their travel information to the mission.
In a statement issued on Thursday, March 12, 2026, the embassy said the appeal follows instructions from Qatari authorities after disruptions to flight operations in the country.
Ghanaians who hold valid tickets with Qatar Airways and are either stranded in transit at Doha or currently residing in Qatar while awaiting travel are required to provide their details to the mission.
Affected travellers have been asked to submit their full names, passport biodata pages, and copies of their flight tickets via email to the embassy at doha@mfa.gov.gh.
“The Embassy of Ghana wishes to inform citizens affected by the closure of airspace and suspension of regular flights in Qatar that the host authorities have instructed all Ghanaians with valid Qatar Airways tickets, whether in transit or awaiting departure, to provide their names, passport biodata pages, and ticket copies to the Embassy to facilitate their return to Ghana or onward destinations,” the notice said.
The embassy added that collecting this information will enable it to work with relevant authorities to arrange travel for affected citizens and assist them in leaving Doha as soon as possible.
