The Ghana Education Service (GES), in partnership with the J. Jerry John Foundation, has brought joy to over 1,250 students in the Krachi Nchumuru district of the Oti Region by providing them with free school uniforms.

Speaking to Adom News, Jerry John Yenabi, CEO of the foundation, highlighted that many parents in the area are unable to prioritize school attire for their children, a situation the foundation aims to address.

“Krachi Nchumuru is among the poorest districts in the country. We cannot just stand by while children go to school in torn or inadequate clothing,” he said.

The initiative targeted several schools, including Motoka No. 1, Motoka No. 2, Gyato, Chayo, Boafre, Chinderi, and Nandi Akura. Jerry John noted that while government support is limited, the foundation seeks to assist vulnerable children in rural communities and encourage them to continue their education.

To date, the foundation has donated over 1,250 uniforms and is calling on other charitable organizations to extend support to the district, which also faces shortages in classrooms, furniture, and access to clean drinking water—essential resources for nurturing future leaders.

Parents in the district expressed heartfelt gratitude, noting that the uniform donations have significantly eased their financial burdens and ensured their children can attend school with dignity.
