The Administrative Manager of Hohoe United Football Club, Yussif Alhassan Uthman, says the decision to boycott the league clash against Eleven Wonders is in line with the club’s earlier decision to withdraw from the competition, regardless of the Ghana Football Association’s position.

The Hohoe-based club abstained from their weekend clash against Eleven Wonders in their Week 28 fixture for the Ghana Premier League at the Swedru Stadium.

Speaking to Sporty FM, Uthman stated that the club remains resolute in its decision and will not participate in any of its remaining fixtures.

“It’s the club decision and not dependent on what the FA decides, and once the club has decided not to continue playing in the league, then we did not see the need to wait on any communication from the FA,” he stated.

“So what if the communication never comes? It means we are playing in a league that we have decided not to continue. For now, it’s the club’s decision, and it still stands,” he added.

Uthman further indicated that the club has followed all required procedures as it awaits official communication from the association.

“We have communicated the same to the FA, and on our part, that’s what is required of us, and we have done just that,” he added.

As the league continues, the Ghana footballing community awaits the FA’s decision on Hohoe United’s withdrawal from the league.

Hohoe United’s future in the Ghana Premier League remains uncertain, with implications that could stretch beyond the current campaign.
