The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has declined to give a definitive position on the future of the Black Stars’ expanded technical team following the departure of former head coach Otto Addo.

Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the GFA strengthened the national team’s backroom staff by adding five more members, bringing the total technical personnel to 19.

The restructuring was intended to provide broader support and expertise as Ghana prepares for the global showpiece.

However, Otto Addo’s exit has raised fresh uncertainty about whether the enlarged technical setup will remain intact under the incoming head coach.

Speaking in an interview with 3Sports, Okraku indicated that discussions are ongoing and a final decision has not yet been made.

“I can’t answer for this moment,” he said when asked whether the technical staff would all retain their positions.

“But what I know is that I am leading the charge, engaging all key stakeholders, just to make sure that we have a technical team that will take us to where we desire and where we want to go,” Okraku added.

With the head coach position now vacant, the GFA is expected to appoint a new leader in the coming weeks as preparations for the World Cup intensify.

The Black Stars are scheduled to regroup in May and June for international friendlies against Mexico and Wales, fixtures that will serve as key tests ahead of the tournament.

Ghana has been drawn in Group L at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they will face Panama, England, and Croatia when the competition kicks off on June 11 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
