Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to helping the Black Queens achieve continental success at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Ghana returned to the WAFCON in 2024 after a six-year absence and secured a bronze medal following a dramatic penalty shootout victory over South Africa.

Speaking on GTV Sports Plus, Asante Twum acknowledged the challenges the team has faced but insisted that the GFA remains focused on supporting the Queens’ push for gold.

“The GFA has taken care of the Black Queens’ coaches for the past three years. We’ve come this far, and we will continue to push to win gold for Ghana,” he said.

He also expressed optimism about the team’s chances of qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, citing the increased number of slots allocated to Africa as a major advantage.

“Fortunately, the slots for Africa have increased, so we are hoping to qualify for the next edition of the Women’s World Cup in Brazil,” he added.
