The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the official academic calendar for all basic schools across the country for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The calendar covers Kindergarten, Primary, and Junior High Schools, outlining term dates, vacation periods, and examination schedules.
In a statement signed by the GES Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the Service announced that the new academic year will commence on September 2, 2025, and end on July 24, 2026. The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has been scheduled for May 4 to May 11, 2026.
GES also reminded stakeholders to observe all public holidays within the academic year. Additionally, a two-day mid-term break will be observed in each term.
Heads of schools, teachers, parents, and students have been advised to take note of the dates and prepare accordingly.
The Service expressed appreciation to all education stakeholders for their dedication throughout the 2024/2025 academic year, which officially ends on July 24, 2025.
