The Ghana Education Service (GES) has organised a day’s orientation workshop to train ten regional and 30 selected district Public Relations Officers (PROs) on the ‘Right Age Enrollment’ campaign.

The training focused on equipping the PROs with the needed information for the activation of the Right Age Enrolment Campaign in selected districts nationwide.

The districts were identified to be areas where many parents did not send their wards to school early as well as having high rate in school dropout cases.

Mr Anthony Boateng, Deputy Director-General of Education in charge of Managerial Services urged the participants to get the key messages for the campaign right to be able to communicate effectively to the target audience.

“Right Age Enrolment Campaign seeks to sensitise and educate stakeholders as well as the general public on the importance of sending their children to school at age four and ensure they stay in school till completion,” he said.

Mr Boateng said the campaign would be rolled-out in mid-August, 2019 in the districts.

Among the beneficiary districts were Assin North, Sefwi Akontombra, Krachi East Bongo, Tarkwa Nsuam, Nadawoli- Kaleo Atebubu, Bosomtwe, Bolga Municipal, Bunkpurugu, Kumasi Metro, Sagnarigu, Adansi Akrofuom, Adansi Asokwa, Ledzokuku-Krowor, Bekwai and Accra Metro.
