The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted Mfo Richard Tibetor, a teacher at Okadjakrom Senior High Technical School in the Oti Region, following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a female student.

In a statement released on Thursday, October 2, the Service acknowledged the circulation of a disturbing video on social media purportedly implicating the teacher.

According to GES, the alleged conduct is “unacceptable, unethical, and a gross breach of the professional code of conduct for teachers.” The Service added that Mr. Tibetor has been barred from accessing the school while investigations are ongoing.

GES reassured parents, guardians, and the general public that safeguarding students remains its utmost priority. It further emphasized that any teacher found guilty of actions that undermine the dignity or welfare of students would “face the full rigours of the law in line with the GES Code of Conduct.”

The statement also reiterated the Service’s commitment to upholding discipline, professionalism, and child protection in schools across the country.
