The Ghana Education Service (GES) Examination Coordinator for Asutifi North District in the Ahafo Region, Frank Otchere, has called on stakeholders to intensify efforts to address the rising cases of examination malpractice in the area.

He made the appeal at Kenyasi during an event organised by the Elevation Youth Fellowship in collaboration with the Asutifi North District Education Directorate for BECE and WASSCE candidates.

Mr. Otchere expressed concern that examination malpractice in the region has reached alarming levels, adding that Ahafo and Bono Regions are currently among the areas leading in such practices nationwide.

He warned that the trend poses serious consequences for students, schools, and the overall credibility of the education system, stressing the need for urgent collective action to reverse the situation.

According to him, while the Education Directorate has put in place measures to combat the problem, broader stakeholder involvement is required to restore discipline and protect the integrity of examinations.

He noted that the engagement programme also served as a sensitisation platform to educate candidates on the dos and don’ts of examination conduct ahead of their upcoming exams.

The Founder of Elevation Youth Fellowship, Francis Nsiah, said the conference, themed “The Youth, Partners for Development: Restoring Moral Values,” was aimed at shaping responsible behaviour among BECE and WASSCE candidates.

He expressed concern over increasing drug use and other social vices among young people, warning that such behaviours threaten national development and require sustained sensitisation to address.
