The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed the headmaster of Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School, Mr. Joshua Vidzro, to step aside with immediate effect following allegations of sexual misconduct involving some female students.

The directive, issued through the Volta Regional Directorate of Education, instructs Mr. Vidzro to temporarily cease all official duties to allow for a thorough and interference-free investigation.

According to the letter, the decision was prompted by allegations that the headmaster engaged in inappropriate conduct with students, claims the GES says require urgent and independent scrutiny.

Management explained that the step-aside order is a precautionary administrative measure aimed at protecting the integrity of the investigative process.

Mr. Vidzro has been asked to hand over all school property, records, and responsibilities to the Municipal Director of Education for Ketu North. He is further required to vacate the school premises from Monday, December 8, 2025, after completing the official handover.

While the directive bars him from any form of direct or indirect contact with the affected students and potential witnesses, GES says he must remain available to assist investigators at all times.

The Service emphasised that the directive does not amount to a presumption of guilt, but forms part of due process in handling sensitive allegations of this nature.

In the meantime, the Municipal Director of Education for Ketu North will oversee the administration and management of Dzodze-Penyi SHS until further notice.
