A sprinter driver has been arrested by the police for knocking and killing two students in the heat of the pandemonium that occurred at the Atomic Junction in Accra following a gas explosion.
The driver of vehicle with registration number, GT 3783 – 14 was arrested after he bolted after knocking the students dead.
It is not clear which school the students are from.

My condolences to the affected ones but gas accidents are becoming a normal thing in Ghana, a sub Saharan nation. In UAE where temperatures could rise to 50oC gas explosion is not prevalent like this. Gas station owners disregard safety measures to protect their workers and we see gas attendants in shorts without boots and proper PPE almost in all gas stations across the country. Authorities should enforce safety regulations and things like this will be minimized. It’s sad people have to lose their lives in such a painful manner.
