GAF’s tribute to late Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala

TO SQUADRON LEADER PETER BAAFEMI ANALA (GH/4281)

Today, we gather with heavy hearts to honour the life and service of Squadron Leader Peter
Baafemi Anala, a dedicated leader, gallant officer, and patriot who tragically lost his life in a
helicopter crash on 6 August 2025.

His sudden passing has left an irreplaceable void in the Ghana Air Force, his family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Commissioned into the Operations Branch of the Ghana Air Force on 17 October 2014,
Squadron Leader Anala was a skilled and passionate pilot.

Throughout his distinguished career, he underwent extensive training both locally and abroad, honing his expertise in aviation and flight safety.

His commitment to excellence was evident in his relentless pursuit of knowledge, ensuring the highest standards in operational performance.

Some of his notable courses and qualifications included Private Pilot Rotor, Instrument Rating, and Commercial Pilot Rotor Helicopter License—Florida, USA (28 August 2014–15 April 2015).

Beyond his technical expertise, Squadron Leader Anala was a mentor and an inspiration to many.

He fostered camaraderie, provided guidance to young officers and airmen, and led by example.

His leadership shone through in his role as Course Commander for the Regimental Orientation Training of Newly Commissioned Officers at Air Force Base Takoradi, a responsibility he discharged with dedication and distinction.

A man of deep faith, Squadron Leader Anala’s life was guided by a steadfast belief in service grounded in love, loyalty, and devotion.
