The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has dismissed reports alleging that former Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, is under investigation for various infractions.
General Oppong-Peprah, who currently serves as Ghana’s Deputy High Commissioner to Canada, was reportedly the subject of a news item claiming that the Ghana Armed Forces had commenced a probe into his conduct.
However, the GAF has described the report as false and groundless.
In a statement, the military said no investigation is being conducted against the former CDS.
“The Ghana Armed Forces wishes to state emphatically that the story is false and groundless. No such investigation is being undertaken,” the statement said.
The GAF urged the public to disregard the report and refrain from circulating what it described as misinformation.
“All well-meaning citizens are urged to ignore the report and cease the spread of such misinformation,” it added.
