Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association, Mr. Kudjoe Fianoo, has hinted that the upcoming  G8 tournament could be played at the  Cape Coast and Elmina Stadia or the Baba Yara and Lanclay stadia.
The Ashgold CEO stated in an interview on the Tuesday edition of the Ultimate Sports Show that they are taking into account the above mentioned stadia.
“In terms of venues our first options are Cape coast and Elmina to cover the G8 competition”
“We can also decide on Baba Yara and the Lanclay stadia for the top eight too. We need to decide on venues which are a little closer to each other in order to make movements easier for our media partners who will be telecasting the matches live.”
“However, after we sign our contract with Startimes, we will then meet with the various club administrators and settle on the venues”.
The annual off season top four tournament was expanded to include the newly promoted premier league clubs ahead of the 2018 premier league campaign. The expanded format also saw the top four clubs joined by the MTN FA Cup and the three promoted premier clubs.
Therefore, clubs  which finished in the top four ;Aduana Stars, West Africa Football Academy (WAFA), Accra Hearts of Oak and Abusua  Dwarfs together with the 2016/2017 MTN FA Cup champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko  have  automatically qualified for the G8 tournament.
The other categories of teams which have been named to play include newly promoted sides Dreams Fc, Karela FC and Eleven Wonders.
The GHALCA G8 tournament is scheduled for 6th to 21st January, 2018.
