Programmes Director of Hitz FM and CEO of Slip Music, Mark Okraku Mantey, says the implementation of the free Senior High School (SHS) education policy will push the nation forward.
According to him, the policy introduced by the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) will increase the percentage of literates in the country has since tuition and other arrears are been covered by the government and the rate of school dropouts will likely decrease.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM Wednesday, Mark stressed that the lack of formal education has caused a lot of people to easily believe hearsays without probing or asking questions.
He recalled eavesdropping on a conversation where a woman accused a politician of giving contracts to people without any concrete evidence yet people believed her; a situation he believes education can solve.

With the Free SHS policy, Mark believes a higher crop of Ghanaians will be open-minded to know how to deal with facts.
Mark who is also head of the Creative Arts Council said “when the mind develops, it knows how to deal with facts… Free SHS will solve a lot of problems. Now about 70 per cent will receive basic education. At 6th form I learnt a lot of things I did in school…” he stated.
He added that when the minds develops, the laws will work better because you don’t need to use money to enforce laws before they work.
