Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare has completed a move to South African Premier Division side Durban City FC.
The former Accra Lions shot stopper has signed a two-year contract, with an option to extend for an additional two years.
The 25-year-old joins the Durban-based outfit on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Asante Kotoko at the end of the 2024/25 Ghana football season.
Asare, who began his top-flight career with Accra Lions before moving to Kotoko in 2022, spent several weeks training with Durban City ahead of sealing the deal.
During his time with the Porcupine Warriors, he impressed with a series of solid performances and played a pivotal role in Kotoko’s 2025 MTN FA Cup triumph.
His standout form also earned him a call-up to the Ghana senior national team, the Black Stars.
Asare now looks to make his mark in the Betway Premiership as he begins a new chapter with Durban City FC.
